A little help. An informed choice.

After you explicitly start a live session, VelvetSpeak processes your conversation on Even Realities G2 glasses. Ask for suggested wording, an explanation or guidance when you want it. Preparing a Plan is optional, and the glasses never start listening just because you opened the app.

With Reply suggestions (formerly Draft) on, Velvet can suggest a short reply on its own after the other person finishes speaking — without you asking. They use the same live audio and context you already share for answers, and you can turn them on or off anytime in You › Glasses & answers.

Suggestions can be wrong. The wearer decides what to say. The glasses never speak for you.

Your microphone audio, including other people's voices in the conversation, is sent to Deepgram or OpenAI for transcription. With the updated provider disclosure accepted, conversation text and relevant context can also go to Google Gemini, and requested web-search questions to Exa. OpenAI can serve as a backup. This information is used to produce your results and is not sold.

In app 1.3.2, with consent version 17 accepted: When you request web search, or when VelvetSpeak detects a question about a public fact that may have changed (for example a count, a price, a score or a recent event), that question may be sent to Exa or OpenAI to check the answer.

In app 1.3.0, About me is a short profile you write yourself. It is kept on your phone and sent with your requests to generate suggestions; VelvetSpeak does not save it on our servers. You can edit or clear it anytime in You › About me.

Transcripts, notes, and memory are stored on your device according to the Memory Capture level you choose. Optional Session memory sync saves a separate summary of new sessions in your account, without audio, transcripts or question-assessment evidence. You can export or erase local app data under You → Data & privacy. VelvetSpeak also keeps content-free usage counts and durations to operate the beta.

After you accept consent version 16 (app 1.3.0), VelvetSpeak saves account-linked, content-free measurements of how you use suggestions, recaps and memory suggestions, your feedback, and delivery timing. Under consent version 15 they cover suggestion use, feedback, and delivery timing only. These can record which answer pages were opened and when the glasses acknowledged a display write; they do not establish that you read or spoke a suggestion. Measurements contain no conversation or suggestion text and remain until account deletion or operator cleanup, with no automatic expiry.

Separately, you can choose to include the exact suggestion and conversation excerpt shown in a support report preview. Only the report's separate, initially unchecked attachment box sends those excerpts to VelvetSpeak support for review. This is an exception to device-only conversation storage, not automatic collection or automatic model training. Report excerpts remain until account deletion or operator cleanup; local Wipe All does not delete them.

In app 1.3.0, with consent version 16 accepted, you can also choose to attach, to a support report, the exact request behind one suggestion — the recent conversation text, the Plan or Scene and settings it used, and what VelvetSpeak showed — so we can replay that moment and fix it. That attachment is a separate box, off by default, shown in full before you send it, kept with your report until account deletion or operator cleanup, and never used automatically for model training.

Processing providers can retain processed content under their service settings and terms. The current details and open verification work are listed on the privacy page.

Plans you write on your dashboard, including notes, lines, key facts, and questions, are saved in your account until you delete them. Your active Plan can be sent with session context to generate help. We keep the last 20 versions of each Plan.

In app 0.8.0, you can mark questions Done or Reopen them. Velvet can also assess which questions were answered after a session. Progress is saved in your account so your phone and dashboard agree. This sync contains answer status, timestamps, and a session reference, not the conversation or supporting excerpts. You can correct an assessment.

In app 0.9.0, the next steps, facts, and questions you add to a Plan are saved in your account the same way, so your phone and dashboard agree. The conversation itself is still not saved with them.

Supporting excerpts are processed with the existing debrief request and retained only in the saved debrief on your device under your capture choices. Question-assessment evidence is excluded from Session memory and Coach Profile. Deleting a Plan removes its questions and progress from the account and from the app when deletion is received. Plans and progress are readable text, not end-to-end encrypted, and are never sold.

In app 0.9.0, you can add notes or a document to a Plan. What is saved in your account is the extracted text, not the file, and it is used to prepare facts, next steps, and questions for that Plan. Deleting the source removes that text.

If reviewed résumé preparation is available for your account and you choose Use this résumé, the reviewed text you approve is saved in your account and sent with your live Interview requests to generate answers. You can withdraw approval or delete the source or Plan to stop future use. Withdrawal removes the reviewed text; it does not delete the original source text or recall text already sent to a provider or answers already displayed or saved on your device.

Text, Markdown, SRT, pasted text, DOCX, and text PDFs are accepted, up to 4 MB. Sources and items are readable text, not end-to-end encrypted, and are never sold.

With Suggest next steps on — it is off unless you turn it on — Velvet uses the same end-of-conversation review it already runs to suggest next steps and questions after a conversation. Suggestions stay on your device until you add them to a Plan; adding one saves it in your account like anything else in that Plan.

What you ask Velvet to help with from your Plan on the glasses is sent for that request, like anything else you ask on glass. It is processed to produce your answer and is not kept after the session.

Personal lenses you create, and the list that decides which lenses your phone and glasses show you, are saved in your VelvetSpeak account so your phone and dashboard agree. Hiding a lens is a display choice, not a delete. The official lenses are the product's and cannot be edited, copied, or exported.

Publishing a lens submits its recipe and example outputs for review. Once approved, they are visible to every VelvetSpeak member under a display name you choose, and anyone can copy them. Your Plans, notes, People, lines, conversations, and account details are never included.

You can unpublish at any time. Copies others already made stay theirs and keep working; unpublishing does not reach into another member's app. Deleting your account withdraws your listings and removes the recipe text from them.

You can upvote shared lenses on Explore. Your upvotes are saved in your account so they stay in place on every device you sign in on; other members see only the count, never who voted; deleting your account removes your upvotes.

An upvote is a vote and nothing else. What is stored is which lens you voted for, that it was you, and when — there is no comment, rating, or reason to write, because there is nowhere to put one. Nothing resolves a lens back to the members who voted for it.

Earlier versions offered optional VoiceLock enrollment using short voice samples to create a recognition profile. The current Beta no longer offers VoiceLock setup.

If you enrolled in an earlier version, contact support@velvetspeak.com to confirm whether a server profile remains and request its deletion. The current app has no Sound-page profile-deletion control; Wipe All does not confirm deletion of a legacy server profile.

Recording and transcription laws differ by region. Many places require everyone in a conversation to agree before it is recorded or transcribed.

Beta testers are responsible for getting that agreement where it is required. When in doubt, tell people about the glasses before you start.

The people you talk to deserve to know. VelvetSpeak does not announce itself, so telling people an AI is helping is the wearer's responsibility, the same as getting their agreement to be transcribed where the law requires it.

VelvetSpeak can be wrong, miss things, or be distracting. Do not rely on it for anything important, safety-critical, or high-stakes. If a conversation involves danger to anyone, stop using the glasses and get real help.

This is a small closed beta. Things will be imperfect. Access can be paused or revoked.
